At ADAPT the patients with Mental illness are being admitted at The Sai Sundaram Care Home (a unit of ADAPT Trust) at Nedungundram nearby Perungulathur. The loving and tender care of ADAPT Team always bring smiles to the faces of the mentally ill Patients.
Specific diagnoses are followed based on criteria established in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, which contains descriptions, symptoms and other criteria for diagnosing mental disorders.
Patients will undergo a full range of medical laboratory and psychological tests which, combined with interviews/discussions with psychiatrist, which helps to provide a picture of a patient's physical and mental state.
The complex relationship between emotional and other medical illnesses will be identified, evaluation of medical and psychological data will be done, and a treatment plan will be developed to work with a patient.

After medical and psychological evaluations, psychiatrists will prescribe medications to help treat mental disorders. The staff nurses and social workers are available round the clock to take care of medications on a routine basis. Patients on long-term medication treatment will be under the regular observation by our psychiatrist in order to monitor the effects of medications.
